Tab Trade — What It Is
TabTrade opened in March 2026. Trading platform registered in Saint Lucia, under the Financial Services Regulatory Authority. The person who started it is Benjamin Boulter. Previously, he was on the executive team at BlackBull Markets, the New Zealand-regulated broker.
His background matters. It suggests the person running this has actually done this before. Does not guarantee anything. Still preferable to someone with no brokerage experience.
The broker opened with Equinix LD4/LD5 connectivity. Same data centres prime brokers run on. Most new brokers leads with marketing and bonuses. These guys led with infrastructure. Interesting choice.
What you can trade: forex, indices, metals, commodities, shares, crypto, ETFs. Over 1,000 instruments. For a platform that is a few months old, that coverage is solid.
What You Trade On
You get: MT5, cTrader by Spotware, and web trading. Both MT5 and cTrader from one account. Many only give you one or the other. Getting both matters. You are not locked into one.
MetaTrader 5 is the industry standard. Full charting, automated trading, huge user base. If you have used MT4 or MT5 before, there are no surprises.
cTrader by Spotware is the more modern one. Better DOM. Faster charting. cBot support. Many people find it more natural after using both.
FIX API is available for algo traders but is only on the VIP tier ($25k minimum). TradingView charting is apparently in the works. That would be a good addition when it lands.
Accounts and Pricing
Three account types: Standard, Edge, VIP.
Standard. 1.0 pip spreads. Zero commission. Straightforward. No minimum deposit. Works for people who want simple pricing.
Edge account. Interbank-style spreads from 0.0 pips on average. Commission of $3.50 each way. Total cost: spread plus $7 per lot round-turn. On majors, the raw spread is often under 0.2 pips. So your real cost can be under half a pip. That is hard to beat for an offshore broker. Most brokers that run raw pricing at this level want $500 or more to open. This broker does not.
VIP account. $25,000 minimum. FIX API, faster fills, negotiated fees. Not for the average person. Skip it unless you move real size.
Execution Speed
The execution is where TabTrade separates from most new launches. Equinix data centres. Execution below 30 milliseconds on Edge. Under 20ms on VIP. These are not marketing fluff. Most retail brokers run hundreds of milliseconds.
Should you care? If you trade small timeframes, yes. The difference between a 30ms fill and a 200ms fill is catching the move or missing it. If you hold positions longer, it matters less. But the fact that the infrastructure is there. That says what kind of broker this is.
Combine that execution speed with raw spreads at $3.50 per side and what you get makes sense. Not many platforms at this price point offer execution like this.
The FSRA Question
Here is the part you need to be straight about. The broker is regulated by the Financial Services Regulatory Authority of Saint Lucia. That is tier-3. No FCA. No fund protection scheme. If the lack of tier-1 regulation is a problem for you, look elsewhere. Plenty of FCA-regulated options out there.
But. The person running it built his career at BlackBull Markets, an FMA-regulated broker. The server placement costs real money. Fly-by-night platforms do not pay for tier-1 data centre access. None of this make it safe. But factor into your decision.
The deal: no FCA or ASIC safety net. For that: high leverage, raw pricing from 0.0 pips, no minimum deposit, fast fills. Whether the trade-off makes sense comes down to your priorities.
